Meet Mari. She is 31 and is living proof that nothing in life is impossible. Mari is 7 months pregnant and expecting the boy she always dreamt of. There is nothing unusual in being pregnant unless you have been told that medically the odds are against you. Mari is a hero because her story proves miracles can happen as long as there is hope.

Meet Andrew. He is 36 years old and wants to do things right. Andrew used to work for arts organisations and charities but got tired of watching good projects dying off. He decided to do great projects by himself. He opened Bolt, a motorcycle themed shop, in London Fields last March (@boltlondon). Everything is original there, from the interior design to products, that come from people who share Andrew’s passion - riding bikes.

The shop is just the beginning though. Andrew thinks bigger. He wants it to be a creative agency with its own brand, a platform for promoting new talent and a network of artists.

His endless enthusiasm and passion for making things happen make Andrew a hero, and I believe that he will create wonders.

Meet Kevin. He is 27 and he carries a memorial under this jacket. Kevin lost his dad to cancer when he was sixteen. His name was Trevor. He was in the merchant navy and his wish was to have his ashes scattered in the sea. That means no grave. No memorial. Nothing. Kevin commemorated his life by having symbolic cryptic tattoos on his back. He carries his memory. His dad has his back. Kevin’s story makes him a hero.

Meet me. My name is Alex. I am 25 and I am looking for heroes. I love writing so I chose journalism as my university degree. I did internships in newspaper and in television but it just wasn’t for me. There was something missing. I always wanted to write about people not politics. This project is a fulfilment of my dream. It comes from a need to create meaningful stories. I am the founder of Looking for Heroes. I follow my dreams. What is your story?
